Large Belgian Oak Régence Style Cabinet

Late 18th or early 19th century Régence style cabinet. Presumably from the Belgian-French border region Mons. Made of solid oak and carved.

Late 18th or early 19th century Régence style cabinet. Presumably from the Belgian-French border region Mons. Made of solid oak and carved.

High two-door body with bevelled corners and a curved, profiled gable with a large floral carved decorative element in the middle. Both doors on outside brass fittings and each with 2 artfully cut out and carved floral panels. Profiled skirting board. 2 rectangular profiled cassettes on each side.

Slight damage to the head strip and the base (see pictures).

Newer not original but matching brass fittings on the doors.

Inside there are 2 drawers and 3 shelves. Changes to the interior can be made after consultation (e.g. installation of a clothes rail).
