French buffet à deux corps or cabinet in Louis XIV style. Early 19th century. Made from solid walnut.

Two-part side-coffered walnut body consisting of a base cabinet with a slightly protruding profiled top panel and a slightly recessed upper cabinet with an overlying cornice. A total four doors in frame construction hung on external brackets with moulded panels and multiple curved panels towards the top.

Inside, the cabinet is fitted with 2 shelves in the upper cabinet and one shelf in the lower cabinet.

Cassette rear panel manufactured in frame and panel construction.

Dimensions:

90 cm (base unit) or 210 cm (total) high / 35.43 inch (base unit) or 82.67 inch (total) high,

145 cm wide / 57.08 inch wide,

45 cm or 62 cm deep / 17.71 inch or 24.4 inch deep.

Shelf depth: 38 cm or 51 cm / 14.96 inch or 20.07 inch.

 

Very good condition, ready for everyday use. The wood shows traces of old woodworm infestation (nothing active!). Two washers added on the hinges of the right-hand door. New keys added. Shelves newly sealed. Original patina surface polished with wax.
