Beschreibung

Large French Art Deco butcher’s block from the 1920s. Made of solid beech wood.

Base section stands on 6 slightly stepped square legs with a high frame and 2 large drawers. The solid worktop is up to 20 cm thick.

Since the Middle Ages, the profession of butcher has been one of the most respected and lucrative occupations. Even then, the first butcher’s blocks were made with a top consisting of many individual squared hardwood timbers set on edge in a frame to ensure the most robust work surface possible. The principle remains the same to this day.

This exceptionnel large French model in the Art Deco style from the 1920s can also be placed free-standing in a kitchen as an island and is both practical and of enormous decorative value.
