A early 19th century French provincial buffet or cabinet made of oak.

Traditionally crafted construction, the oak body moulded on the sides with a slightly protruding profiled top panel. Rounded fluted pilaster strips and the multiple curved plinth ending in slightly S-shaped curved feet. Two framed doors suspended from external iron fittings with multiple curved panelled panels and a fluted bevelled strip on the left door. Ornamental cornice carved with a rosette in the centre.

Inside, the cabinet is fitted with 2 shelves.

Presumably original iron fittings mounted. The lock is no longer from the period.

The back wall is made of frame and panelled construction.

An authentic country house piece with various traces of age including visible repairs (including feet and top panel) and old woodworm channels (nothing active!). See photos.

The old wax was removed from the wood, revealing the beautiful light-coloured surface of the raw oak wood. Cleaned and smooth surface
