Beschreibung

A German provincial cabinet from the early 19th century. Made of solid pine wood, stained and waxed.

This authentic piece of furniture is characterised by its purist design combined with traditional craftsmanship and a charming patina. It´s natural simplicity and the traces of time that have been left over 2 centuries make it a perfect wabi sabi piece – a way of life that celebrates the perfectly imperfect, which means the beauty that is sometimes found in unusual, unfashionable places or objects and in moments that are usually overlooked or unappreciated. The great proportions make it a versatile piece of furniture that can be used as a small wardrobe in the bedroom or hallway, for example, as well as for storage in the kitchen or living and dining area.

Thanks to it´s minimalist design, it fits perfectly into any setting, whether it is a contemporary or classic.

Smooth straight-lined pine wood body with a door on large hand-forged iron hinges.

Inside, the cabinet is fitted with a small gallery and the original hook rails. 2 shelves have been added.

Can be locked with the original lock and key.

Dimensions

Height: 177.5 cm / 69.88 inch.

Width: 114 cm / 44.88 inch.

Depth: 48 cm / 18.89 inch. Shelf depth: 43.5 cm / 17.12 inch.

Good minimal restored condition (e.g. cabinet body partially re-glued; shelves newly made and stained and sealed to match). The cabinet body and doors have warped over the course of more than 100 years. The stable body is therefore not flat against the wall. The door can be closed properly with light pressure, only the bottom left corner protrudes slightly (see pictures).

The cabinet cannot be dismantled for transport.
