A provincial baroque chest of drawers solidly crafted in oak. Germany/ Belgium, late 18th century.

Curved front oak body with coffered sides, three drawers and corresponding moulded top panel. With panelled decoration, florally and ornamentally carved drawer fronts and corners which, together with the curved, moulded frame, end in volute-shaped paw feet. Mounted rococo fittings. Locks missing.

Height: 92.5 cm / 36.41 inch.

Width: 121 cm / 47.63 inch.

Depth: 62 cm (max.) / 24.4 inch. (max.)

Internal dimensions of the drawers: 16.5 cm (6.49 inch) high, 102 cm (40.15 inch) wide, 54 cm (21.25 inch) max. deep

Restored condition ready to use with slight signs of wear due to age and less visible repairs. The following work has been carried out, among other things: Carved decorative element added to the foot (paw) on the left and further minor additions also to the drawer fronts. The running function of the drawers was restored. Most of the old wax was removed from the outer surface, stained black and then re-polished with wax.
