Art Nouveau double door with etched glass panes and chinoiserie painting. Belgium, around 1910.
Four-piece set consisting of a double door flanked by 2 side-elements. Each 2/3 glazed with etched glass panes.
Coloured on one side and the cassettes with elaborate polychrome chinoiserie painting. The motifs are peacocks, butterflies, hummingbirds, as well as flowers and tendrils (cherry blossoms). In iconography, the peacock stands for beauty, passion and royalty, among other things.

282 cm (together) wide / 111 inch (together) wide,
4 cm thick / 1.57 inch thick.
