A French baking trough table (also known as a dough trough, dough box or baking trough) from the 19th century.

Beschreibung

A French baking trough table (also known as a dough trough, dough box or baking trough) from the 19th century.

Originally, the trough was used for kneading and storing baking dough. When not in use, it served as a kitchen table. Today, this provincial charm is one of the main reasons for the decorative value of this authentic piece of furniture, which is ideal for use as a side table or console table.

Made from solid oak, it consists of a frame, the actual baking tray and the lid. The base consists of four thin, turned legs, which are connected with an H-strut and frame. The tapered, mortised trough rests on top of this, as does the moulded top plate, which protrudes slightly all around.

Dimensions

Height: 56.5 cm (base) or 83 cm (total) / 22.24 inch (base) or 32.67 inch (total).

Depth: 55 cm / 21.65 inch.

An authentic piece of furniture in good condition. The old wax has been carefully sanded off the surface, revealing the beautiful matt texture of the light-coloured raw oak wood.
