Beschreibung

A 1930´s butcher’s block in Art Deco style. Made of solid beech wood.

Since the Middle Ages, the profession of butcher has been one of the most respected and lucrative occupations. Even back then, the first butcher’s blocks were made with a top consisting of many individual squared hardwood timbers set on edge in a frame to ensure a work surface that was as robust as possible. The principle remains the same to this day.

This Art Deco style model from the 1930s still bears witness to the quality of these rare pieces today. After almost 100 years, the worktable shines in new splendour following its refurbishment. Placed in a kitchen, it is both practical and of enormous decorative value.

The base has stepped square legs and a high frame with a large dovetailed drawer. The solid worktop is up to 19 cm (7.48 inch) thick with a knife slot and removable back board. Original ring handle fitted.
